Abstract

The peculiarities of laser evaporation of soft biological tissues in the process of two-dimensional scanning of continuous CO2 laser radiation were studied experimentally and numerically. Samples from agar and pig heart muscle in vitro were used as soft biotissue models. The depth of evaporation and the peculiarities of the formed surface of the evaporated zone were studied for different regimes of exposure: radiation power, scanning speed of the laser beam, filling density of the scanned zone. A semi-empirical model of laser evaporation of soft biological tissues with high water content is proposed based on the energy balance and the evaporative mechanism of biotissue removal. Studies have shown good agreement between experimental data and data obtained based on the proposed model.
